If you are looking for a new experience on your vacation, consider staying in a yurt! Merridale’s two yurts are a unique way for you to spend a relaxing getaway in the country. It’s “glamping” at its finest!
“What IS a yurt?” you may ask. A yurt is a portable, round dwelling used by the nomadic groups of Central Asia. Traditionally, the structure is a crown supported by roof ribs, which are bent down at the end to meet the lattice wall, and then covered with a felt cover. Yurts have been around for at least three thousand years, and are known for their spiritual and calming benefits.
Merridale’s two yurts are one room cabins that let you experience the peacefulness of the countryside. Unwind with a soak in the tub, or with the gentle warmth of the fireplace, as the sounds of nature lull you to sleep. The next morning, you can look forward to a breakfast of fresh coffee or tea alongside fresh baked goods from our wood-fire brick oven.
A few things to consider … while Fido may be a part of your family, we do have resident dogs on the property that can be territorial. Please leave pets at home, unless previous arrangements have been made. Also, like with traditional camping, you will need to trek your “glamping gear” along the short gravel paths from the main parking area to your accommodations. The yurts are not vehicle accessible, ensuring peace and quiet away from the city noises.
