If you’ve got a special event coming up, Merridale makes a beautiful venue for weddings, family reunions, conferences and retreats.

At Merridale, every event is special and unique in its own right, and to ensure that all of your expectations are met, we meet with every customer. The details are important, and we want your function to be memorable and perfect in every way. After you have made your decision to join us, we will set up a meeting to customize Merridale’s part in your event and sign the necessary documents.

Your date will be reserved once we have a signed a contract. It’s also important to note that this webpage is for informational purposes only. If there is a discrepancy between what’s here and your signed contract, your contract will take precedence.

Weddings

Pond Side Wedding Ceremonies … Saturday:
$500.00, Monday to Friday:$300.00. Ceremony only: available 11am to 2pm; Ceremony with reception at Merridale: available 4pm for guest arrival and 4:30pm for ceremony

The natural ambiance of Merridale Estate Cidery creates a unique venue to say “I do”. The quiet rural setting of the orchard and fields, alongside the water’s edge of our pond is perfect for those couples looking for something unique.

Pond Weddings are available for two consecutive hours between noon and 6:00pm.

Price includes:

  • Three tents, and fifty chairs
  • Reception set up and break down
  • Option to take pictures in the orchard
  • A Place for the Bride to Get Ready
  • Option for guests to do self-guided tours of the orchard and cellar

Please note: Additional chairs available $4.00 per chair

Service of appetizers and drinks are available at an additional cost.

Reception at The Ciderhouse … Saturdays:$1500.00 for guests numbers of 50 or less, additional guests $10.00 per guest; Monday to Friday: $900.00 for up to 50 people, with an additional $10.00 per person over 50 people

The ciderhouse makes a beautiful venue for a wedding reception. As well as a cider bar and tasting room, the building features a fieldstone fireplace with cathedral ceilings of local timber, and wall-to-wall windows overlooking the apple orchard, meadows, and ponds. The back deck offers two covered areas, complete with heaters should the evening be a bit chilly. The deck can seat up to 100 people, and offers a raised platform for either your head table or musicians. The inside bistro is a great place for dancing after your meal is done.

  • Receptions may commence any time after 6:15pm in the ciderhouse and must finish by 11:00pm

An Added Amenity: The Yurt $200

Happily exhausted from a long day filled with joy and laughter, the bridal couple need only take a few steps under the star filled sky to enter an enchanted space of privacy and romance.

Our newly constructed Yurt, tucked into the trees at the edge of the orchard and overlooking the pond, houses a beautiful bridal suite. Soak in a clawfoot tub as you recount the events of your special day and drift to sleep enjoying the natural stillness surrounding your own piece of paradise.

The Wellness Spa at Merridale
Our Esthetic Treatments will take place in the vinegar shack, a cute and cozy hut in the middle of the orchard, and massage packages will take place in the yurt – a Mongolian tent situated on the hill overlooking the pond. Spa packages will include lunch while sipping cider and enjoying the anti-aging benefits of a foot or hand soak in the cider apple vinegar. When the weather warms up, spa treatments will also be available in our gazebo nestled by woods edge overlooking the pond. The structure will be draped for privacy, but will still allow our guests to experience the outdoors. Group appointments are available.

Included in the rental of the reception venue:

  • Use of the orchard for photo sessions
  • An open invitation to your guests to take self-guided tours while the wedding party takes photos (this does not include complimentary tastings)
  • The natural ambiance and beauty of the orchard which eliminates the need to decorate
  • All staffing requirements
  • Consultation on a special menu for your event and its supplemental pricing. We pride ourselves on cooking with local ingredients as much as possible.
Hours of Venue Rental for Weddings

We live in a rural area, and respect our neighbours right to quiet. Ciderhouse receptions must be finished by 11pm and we ask that you leave the property quietly. Live or outside music must end by 10pm at the Ciderhouse.

Food and Drink

Our focus is on fresh and local food, and we know you will taste the passion our chef Dave Woolfall has put into our wedding menu. The Tuscan Platter Menu is one of 3 possible menus for your special day.

If you have dietary concerns or allergies, please let us know and we will do our best to accommodate you.

As for drink, our license allows us to serve you BC wine, beer, and of course, cider. For local beer we offer two craft breweries, Phillips and Lighthouse. Both can be purchased by the glass or litre, however, if you have a preference for another brewery, please discuss this with us (it must be a local craft brewer). We have an excellent selection of B.C. wines, particularly our island wines, as well as small lot production wineries from other areas of the province. We can bring in wines that are not on the list, but you will have to commit to purchasing the entire case and additional fees will be added.

Conferences & Seminars

We offer our ciderhouse (and soon a room located in our brandihouse) to host private functions such as conferences, seminars or executive gatherings. We provide you with an atmosphere that nurtures creative thought and productive hours with your staff or customers. We offer a wide range of meals, either plated or buffet style, and focus on fresh, local produce, meats, and breads.
