Scrumpy
11% abv
Winner of Gold & Silver 2002 North American Brewers Awards in Idaho Springs. If you’re a Scotch drinker, try this one. Scrumpy is strong and sharp, and rich in the flavours of our strongest cider apples. Once you acquire a taste for Scrumpy, nothing else will do! In old England, scrumpy was a cider made by farm workers who stole or ‘scrumped’ apples from the orchard. Scrumpy pairs well with other sharp tastes, such as blue cheese.

Pomme Oh!
19% abv
A delicate balance of apple and brandy with a soft, slightly sweet finish. Fresh apple juice is pressed into French Oak barrels and the fermentation is begun. At the precise moment the fermentation is stopped by adding our own Apple Oh de Vie leaving some remaining sweetness from the apple juice along with the warmth of the alcohol. Then, the pommeau is aged in the barrels for another 18 months. This is complex, subtle and goes wonderfully with soft cheeses.

Soft Cider — Merridale’s unique soft cider is made from our own blend of five different varieties of apples chosen for their individual flavour and bouquet to produce a delicate balance in this full bodied apple juice.
Cider Vinegar — Our cider vinegar is made in limited quantity and is only sold at our farmhouse store. We start with the right fruit, slowly age to Scrumpy cider, and then in small batches produce our cider apple vinegar. A smooth and delicate balance makes it perfect for salad dressings and sauces. Alternatively, cider vinegar can be used for medicinal purposes. Many health experts believe it strengthens the heart, lowers blood pressure and cholesterol, and eliminates infections and viruses. But we will let you be the judge on that!
