Ciderbar and farmhouse store hours:
Tastings, shopping, self-guided cellar tours, and orchard walks are available 7 days a week 11am to 5pm.

Holidays Events at Merridale:
Beginning November 27, we'll serve dinners on SELECT Friday, Saturday, and Sundays to pair with our Orchard Light Up. Reservations for dinner are strongly recommended as the bistro is often booked out for holiday parties and functions. See our holiday events.

Bistro Atmosphere

As you travel up or down Vancouver Island, stop in at our orchard bistro for lunch. Enjoy local cuisine, a large patio overlooking our orchard, and, of course, apple cider hand crafted just steps from the bistro's kitchen.

Located in the middle of a working cider farm, this unique Vancouver Island restaurant combines cider pairings and seasonal menu items inspired by nearby Cowichan Valley farmers, vintners, and cheese-makers.  

The restaurant has two eating areas. You’ll find the main room with its traditional fieldstone fireplace and spacious tables. The main restaurant also features a granite cider tasting bar − perfect for a cider and some conversation while your lunch is being prepared. Guests can also enjoy their meal on the large covered patio where you will find plenty of outdoor space to sit with friends, sip coffee, or sample ciders and local wines. 

After lunch, you might enjoy a short stroll to the Merridale orchard pond, the romantic centre of many Vancouver Island weddings hosted at our farm.

Try Our Cider and Spirits

As you enjoy your meal in the bistro, experience a Merridale cider flight, a tasting of six distinct ciders designed to introduce you to the rich range and different traditions of cider making. This is a history lesson most enjoy taking. With our fortified or spirit flights, you'll enjoy that our spirits are made on site following age-old methods of distillation and created in the true artisan fashion. 

Before or after your time in the bistro, you might choose to step up to the ciderbar for a tasting with one of our friendly experts. The net proceeds from our tasting fees are donated to local charities. Enjoy the warm and casual vibe of our tasting room and browse our store for artisan products of all kinds.
